Tabata Training: 4 minutes of hell
Tabata protocol is an training method which was named after a Japanese man who found it. It may be described as a tenser method than high intensity interval training.
How was it found?
A man called Dr Izumi Tabata was making a research with a group of cyclists. He divides group into two, observation group and experimental group. The observational group makes normal cardio exercises, which is 1-2 hours of aerobic exercises. The other group does four minutes of training in a day. They are doing exercises at maximum level of oxygen consumption for 20 seconds and then have a break for 10 seconds. They repeat this for eight sets. And the total training ends in four minutes. This 8 sets of exercise is so challenging that one’s body gets exhausted at the end.
What happened at the end of the experiment?
After six months, both groups were analyzed and examined. Strength levels, as expected, were higher in the Tabata experimental group. But the main point is the aerobic values. It was seen that aerobic values of Tabata group were also higher than the observational group values.
The sports world was shocked. Because it was believed taht he best way to burn fat do longer work outs in a slow tempo.
So, after this article you may think of changing your slow tempo work out routine and do some real challenging fat burning exercises for only four minutes a day by giving a chance to tabata training.
